Alden of Waterford Rehabilitation and Health Care Center will host a rubber Duck Race Thursday, September 23 from 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at their facility in Aurora, Illinois. The Race features not only 1,000 rubber ducks, but also appetizers catered by the rehabilitation center’s professional chef, a cocktail hour featuring Alden’s signature wines, entertainment, games for kids and more. All proceeds from the Duck Race will benefit the Leukemia Research Foundation. Rubber ducks will be available for purchase soon. For information, please call 847-424-0600.
Recessionfest 2010

Live from Winneshiek County Fairgrounds in Decorah, Iowa, Recessionfest is back for two days of live music, great good, a bags tournament and much more. This year's band lineup includes Rearview Mirror, Throw The Fight, Tugg, Die Sloe, Breaking Day, EGG, Wonder Creek, Michelle Lynn, Mouse Pocket, Witness, and General B & The Wiz. Tickets are $15 for the 2-day pass ($12 in advance) and $10 for the one-day pass available at the gate. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Leukemia Research Foundation.

Bikes for Boomer Motorcycle Ride

The Angarola Family of Bartlett, Ill. is hosting its inaugural Bikes for Boomer Motorcycle Ride, in memory of Thomas Angarola, Sunday September 26, 2010 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. All bikes are welcome for this scenic ride of 100 miles – beginning and ending at Bannerman’s Sports Grill in Bartlett. $20 per bike, $15 per passenger – first bike out at 10 a.m. sharp!
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Thomas “Boomer” Angarola passed away in July, 2010. He was first diagnosed with leukemia in 2004 and had a bone marrow transplant in 2005. Little Lefty Golf-A-Thon

The 6th Annual Little Lefty Golf-A-Thon is scheduled for Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Mill Creek Golf Club in Geneva, IL. Golf from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. and only 36 registrants accepted - you could golf 100 holes in one day! This event is hosted by the Nicholas Orjuela "Little Lefty" Memorial Chapter of the LRF.
